About SALTO Digital

European SALTO Digital Resource Centre

SALTO Digital Resource Centre supports the development, implementation, and quality of the Digital Transformation Priority in Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps Programmes in cooperation with the European Commission and the National Agencies. The aim of SALTO Digital is to improve the quality and impact of the programmes at a systemic level through providing evidence-based knowledge, expertise, resources, capacity-building and future insights on digital transformation. SALTO Digital acts as an evidence-based knowledge hub in the field of digital education, training and youth, and channels knowledge in the area of its mandate into programme and policy development.

SALTO Digital works in the fields of school education, vocational education and training, higher education, adult education, and youth and collaborates closely with all 54 National Agencies in 33 countries.

SALTO Digital acts as a knowledge HUB between Policy and Practice on Digital Priority.

SALTO Digital is hosted by the Finnish National Agency for Education. SALTO Digital supports digital transformation as a horizontal priority in both Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps Programmes in line with the Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027), the Council Recommendation on the key enabling factors for successful digital education and training, the Council Recommendation on improving the provision of digital skills and competences in education and training, and the European Youth Strategy.

SALTO Digital is seeking to continuously raise the quality of digital education and training and digital aspects in youth. It acts as an evidence-based knowledge hub linking policy and practice in digital transformation, it analyses relevant projects and extracts trends and underlying mechanisms behind successful implementation, including best practice selection, promotion and feedback to policy. Finally, SALTO Digital supports National Agencies’ capacity development for successful digital transformation and assists in the development of National Agencies’ digital strategies.

In addition, SALTO Digital provides training for National Agencies and external evaluators on AI literacy, risks, data protection, and alignment with Programme Guide criteria.
